Evergreen, California

Evergreen is located to the east of central San Jose and embraced by the surrounding foothills. The community has a mix of mature homes as well as newer construction. Evergreen was once covered with black walnut orchards. Today, it is one of San Jose's finest bedroom communities providing a wide range of shopping, dining and recreational opportunities. Children of Evergreen are enrolled in the highly praised Evergreen School District. The Evergreen Valley College campus rests on 175 picturesque acres and serves the surrounding communities. The United States Department of Education identified 10 Evergreen District schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools. To achieve this honor, a school must first be named a Distinguished School and then undergo further evaluation by a federal review team. Blue Ribbon Schools have demonstrated excellence in academic leadership, quality teaching and teacher development, curriculum, student achievement and parent involvement.

Evergreen is home to several parks including Lake Cunningham Park, Windmill Springs Park and Groesbeck Park. Evergreen even has its own Farmer's Market located at the Mirassou Vineyards. Perched atop the hills above Evergreen is the prestigious Silver Creek Valley Country Club and its master-planned community. This private club provides members with access to some of the finest golf in the area, as well as racquet, swimming and social activities.
